The 1953-54 ABA season is the first season of the American Basketball Association resulting from the merger between ABL and NBL. The season ended with the Minneapolis Lakers beating the Baltimore Bullets 4 games to 3 in the ABA Finals.

ABA had a national television contract with the DuMont Television Network televising 13 games, paying 39,000 dollars for the rights.
