The 1955 Davis Cup was the 44th edition of the most important tournament between national teams in men's tennis. The Eastern Zone was reinstated with increasing entries from Asia. 34 teams would enter the competition, 23 in the Europe Zone, 6 in the Americas Zone, and 5 in the Eastern Zone. This would also be the first time that the previous winner would have to do more than one match with Australia starting at the finals stage.

In the Finals, it went down to two nations after both Australia and the United States both won their semis with the United States coming from two rubbers down to win their 20th title.
