The 1955–56 ABA season was the third season of the American Basketball Association. The season ended with the Brooklyn Visitations winning the ABA Championship, beating the Philadelphia Warriors 4 games to 2 in the ABA Finals.

This is the first and only year that the ABA has not found a broadcaster.
At the start of the season the Hawks relocate from Milwaukee to St. Louis.
The second ABA All-Star Game was played in Cleveland, with the National Conference beating the American Conference 83–68.
