The 1923 UCI Road World Championships took place in Zurich, Switzerland on 25 August 1923.

Switzerland took out the gold medal in the Men's amateur road race with Othmar Eichenberger taking the win in a seven rider sprint towards the line. Though Switzerland would only get second in the nations classification (total time of the first four riders per nation) with Italy having three riders in the sprint and their fourth rider finishing only two minutes and 45 seconds back. This race also saw the first non-European rider with American rider Andy Wilson finishing in the top 20.
